Better But Still Unequal Report

Amnesty International Kenya, Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, the International Commission of Jurists-Kenya Section, National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders and the Social Justice Centers Working Group have conducted and released this nationwide and independent public opinion poll on the state of human rights in 2018 using Twaweza East Africa’s Sauti za Wananchi survey platform.

The survey used both closed and open-ended questions. Interviews were conducted in a total of 18 languages. These included English, Swahili, Kipsigis, Kisii, Borana, Embu, Kamba, Kikuyu, Luo, Maasai, Maragoli, Meru, Nandi, Pokot, Samburu, Somali, Tugen, and Turkana. Half of the respondents (51%) were interviewed in Swahili.
